On Halloween, it was FREEZING and it snowed. The following day, All Saints Day in the Catholic Church, Mallory and David got married.

When I arrived in the morning, it was 20 degrees and there were fall mums still covered in snow… a beautiful contrast between the colors of fall and the early arrival of winter. Luckily, the sun shined all day and the snow melted away into a perfect fall wedding.

The day was full of happy tears. The first tears fell when Mallory read her heart-felt letter to David, describing how she thought her expectations of finding a fairytale type of love were too high. The night before she met David, she hung a sign in her room with Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you.”

Little did she know, those plans would begin to unfold the next day. 

Mallory and her bridesmaids got ready in the front room of Lonzerotti’s, a Jacksonville Italian restaurant located in an old train station. Their space was beautiful and full of natural light and the staff was so welcoming and accommodating! There was no tension in the room, just excitement, support, and laughter.

David and his groomsmen got ready at their reception location, the beautiful Hamiltons at 110 North East. A gorgeous space with incredible details like fountains and grandfather clocks and full of large windows. 

We headed to MacMurray’s campus for their first look and portraits, while lots of kind strangers congratulated the couple as they drove by on their lunch break. 

Finally, it was time for the big ceremony at Our Savior Parish. Father gave a beautiful homily describing his parents, a farm boy and a city girl, just like David and Mallory and joked about their future children and their identities. He encouraged David and Mallory that they and their children would work out great, because of their shared love of and commitment to Jesus. 

As the guests headed to Hamilton’s for the reception, Mallory and David headed to their farm for some beautiful golden hour portraits. Now that the nerves of the day had worn off, they relaxed and kissed and practiced their first dance.

It was such a pleasure getting to know you. You are clearly so loved by each other and so many people around you. Thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding. When hard times come, I hope that you use this film as a compass to remember your deep love for each other and why you got married.
