Want to learn to capture beautiful, authentic images of your family?
You're in the right place!
We all have that one friend that posts STUNNING photos of her children all over Instagram.
Maybe she inspired you to buy your first DSLR! You excitedly pulled it out of the box and took photos for a few days, but when your results were less-than-impressive, you shoved your camera onto a closet shelf and decided "someday" you'd learn to use it. Now, you LOVE to take photos of your kids on your phone, but still wish you could up your photography game and create beautiful, emotive keepsakes for your walls AND your Instagram feed. Maybe you've even felt guilt over not using your DSLR and considered selling it!
"But my camera is so confusing. My kids never hold still. I don't have a creative bone in my body!"
I've been there! For years, I swooned over other people's photos. I'm NOT a creative person and felt like taking beautiful photos was outside of my reach.
I was wrong.
I got an entry-level DSLR for my birthday in 2011. I googled and youtubed and read books and forums and blogs. I took LOTS of bad photos and some good ones. And now, my only regret is believing the lie that I wasn't creative and could never learn to take beautiful photos.
I want to help you get past those same lies. I want to help you learn to understand how your camera works and train you to capture photos of your family that you (and they!) will treasure for the rest of their lives.

What this class isn’t:
This course is not recommended if you're already confident shooting in manual mode. This class won't discuss how to start a photography business or post-processing techniques. If you're interested in more advanced learning, contact me to set up one-on-one mentoring!
DO I NEED A DSLR? NOPE! The majority of the class will teach you techniques that will work on ANY camera. While we'll be diving into learning about things like aperture and shutter speed, you'll be learning topics you can implement TODAY, such as light, composition, seeing photo opportunities, and discovering the things you want to capture - all things you can do on ANY camera (including your phone!) to improve your photos right away.
CAN I BRING MY LITTLE ONE? You know your children best and I trust you to decide your need for childcare (or not). Don’t let your children be a barrier for you! No extra cost for kids, but if you'd like to bring your child, let me know and we'll make sure we have a treat and a coloring book for him/her.
DO I NEED TO BUY A SEAT IN ADVANCE OR CAN I SHOW UP AT THE DOOR? I typically don’t like to make plans far in advance, so I GET IT, but I HIGHLY recommend registering in advance, as I’m capping attendance at 12 people. I can’t make any promises there will be seats on Saturday afternoon, but you're welcome to email me to check.
